The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office is alerting citizens about the resurgence of a phone scam in the area. Scammers are calling Spencer County residents pretending to be from “the Spencer County

The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office is alerting citizens about the resurgence of a phone scam in the area.

Scammers are calling Spencer County residents pretending to be from “the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office” stating that they owe money for Failure to Appear and other charges.

The scam is also being reported in Bullitt County, and Jeffersonville and New Albany, Ind.

The Sheriff’s Office, or any government entity would never call and ask for money.
